In the world of non-invasive beauty treatments, High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) has emerged as a revolutionary procedure that promises to turn back the hands of time.
With its remarkable ability to rejuvenate skin and tighten sagging areas, HIFU treatment is hugely popular with individuals seeking a safe and effective way to enhance their appearance without surgery. Read on to discover how HIFU works, its numerous benefits, and who can benefit from this cutting-edge technology.
How HIFU Treatment Works
HIFU Treatment is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses focused ultrasound energy to stimulate collagen production deep within the skin. Unlike traditional ultrasound, which uses low-intensity sound waves for diagnostic purposes, HIFU delivers high-energy ultrasound waves to targeted areas beneath the skin’s surface.
This ultrasound energy stimulates collagen production in the deeper dermal and sub-dermal levels, which results in micro injury to that tissue. As the tissue heals, it increases collagen production and as the collagen fibres organise and shorten, a tightening effect is seen in the tissue.
Results build gradually over 3-4 months and can continue to improve for up to 6 months after the procedure.
Examples of small areas are the arms, hands and lower leg.
Examples of large areas are the abdomen, buttocks and thighs
